Seafood Gala | Thinkstock.comBartlett Regional Hospital Foundation is proud to present its first Seafood Gala and Fundraiser on Saturday, September 7 at the Timberline Restaurant atop the Mt. Roberts Tram. “We are so excited to be holding this Gala,” said Holly Cerne, president of the Foundation board. “All funds raised from the Gala will be awarded to Bartlett Regional Hospital to provide emergency room nurses with training and certification in conducting sexual assault exams. This is an especially worthwhile cause, since currently no hospital staff have training in this area.”

The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute will be providing Alaska’s best seasonal seafood, which will be perfectly cooked by celebrity chef Jesse Ziff Cool from Menlo Park, CA. Ziff Cool, who is also an author of seven cookbooks, has been dedicated to sustainable agriculture and cuisine since the early 70’s as a writer, restaurateur, spokesperson, and consultant for eco-conscious food service and corporate responsibility in the food industry.

“The Gala will feature silent, dessert and outcry auctions with items appealing to all budgets,” said Cerne. “If your business would like to contribute an auction item, sponsor a table (includes a table sign and eight tickets) and/or become a corporate sponsor, please be in touch with the Foundation office at 463-5704.”
Tickets for the event are available through the Juneau Arts and Humanities Council’s box office, Hearthside Books, the Blue Heron Gift Shop on the hospital campus, and the Foundation office.

“Come have a delicious dinner and a wonderful evening that will help us raise the $40,000 necessary to give our nurses the tools they need to care for those who need it most,” said Cerne.
