Welcome to July! Forgive me for talking about my pregnancy once again but it’s really been my main topic of conversation and brain function lately, when my brain is functioning at all that is. Thinking about my own expanding family has me reflecting on what a great support system I have from my magazine family. For the next couple of months I have planned to have help from various talented friends and family to keep the magazine running smoothly while I may become a little distracted with all that is baby, and boy I’m glad I put a plan in place! I was unexpectedly medevaced as a pregnancy precaution and am resting nicely in Anchorage but do have to depend solely on other people to keep the magazine rolling. I cannot even express the amount of gratitude I feel for the people who have stepped in to help and made everything such a smooth and stress free situation. I want to take a moment to thank the people who have offered to help and also mention them so you, the readers of Southeast Living Magazine, know who’s behind this publication. First, thank you to my wonderful advertisers who ultimately make the publication possible. Your continued support, guidance, suggestions and comments keep the magazine fresh and local! Second, thank you to my writers and contributors. I am so pleased that I can publish editorial that is almost always local, written by locals and pertaining to the local Southeast Alaska audience. Each writer has their own unique style and story and I am so pleased I have such a diverse and talented bunch! Next up, thank you to my good friend and the very talented graphic designer Maggie Frank. She did the ad building and layout work for this entire edition! Coincidently, I’d also like to wish her good luck in the 4th of July Parade as she will be the First Lady of the parade this year supporting her husband and Parade Grand Marshal, Coast Guard Reserve Petty Officer First Class Jeremy Frank. Thank you to my good friend and former coworker of several years, Dustin Stogner for helping me with distribution. Dustin will be distributing to many locations for both the magazine and the monthly Powell tab that we produce. Dustin has several years of sale and graphic design experience within Juneau and outside of it, and is recently a new dad moved back to Juneau with his fiancé Meggie. If you see Dustin and perhaps his little one please do say hello! Thank you to Janelle Quimpo who has taken on the photography responsibilities of the magazine and did this month’s cover shot. Last but not least, thank you to the dedicated readers of Southeast Living Magazine. Thank you for supporting this publication by picking up a copy and reading it, perhaps doing our crossword puzzle, viewing our photos and checking out the advertisements! Without your interests this magazine would not be prosperous. Starting and maintaining this publication, I really do get to see the “circle of life – of business” and how each puzzle piece plays a very big roll in the success of a business. Thank you all for your help and support, and being a family member to the magazine as I anticipate our new family member!
